New bylaw needed?
where Council/Developer bylaw or regulation breaches cause hazards such as steep, unretained, tree stripped properties, or infrastructure damage; causing them to slip down or flood onto existing properties, requiring clearing, demolition and/or restoration, that neglect and/or breach of regulations should be remedied at the expense of developers/owners; if not the Councils.
As many current properties from hilly suburbs like Korokoro, Maungaraki, Belmont, Harbour View etc will be at risk from new developments that have not met bylaws and/or regulations I think we need a campaign to ensure bylaw protection from both Hutt City Council, Wellington Regional Council and Wellington Water.
