Plenty to do over sunny weekend
The region is set for a big weekend with lots of events on, including the Hutt News Petone Fair on Jackson St.
The largest summer community and family event in the Hutt Valley. This family street fair offers hundreds of stalls selling artwork, crafts, clothing, food and other quality products and there are many fair ground attractions, rides and the sound stage for your enjoyment.

FREE 10-liter emergency water bottles

I have around twenty, empty 10-liter distilled water bottles to serve as emergency water storage. I saved them for my friends, but they already have their own water supplies. Take as many as you like. Please respond to this notice if you are interested.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
