Bus Network Review Approved, New Electric Buses, Bus Priority Agreed
Big week for Wellington bus commuters with GWRC Council decisions on Thursday: 1) Approved Bus Network Review with reduction of forced transfers, more direct services, reinstatement of suspended services, more peak and shoulder services, and extended #14 service from Kilbirnie to Rongotai College at start and end of school day; 2) Final negotiations with bus operators to get more than 80 new electric buses on the network; 3) Agreed action plan with NZTA and WCC on bus priority measures on 8 congestion corridors across the city.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
