Learn how to use a computer
Not every-one has a computer or knows how to use one so the pressure on families to support their children's digital learning can be unrealistic. There is help available for these families, with free programmes that teach them how to use the internet, email and teaches some basic computer skills. Sometimes the programme partners provide free computers for those that can't afford them, other times it might be a really good data package.
In August a 9 week course is starting for families in the Eastern Suburbs of Wellington. This is a partnership between Whitireia, Scots College and E - Learning Porirua. The course is free to those on a benefit.
If you wish to register for this course or if you would like to know more, call Lynda Murray on 021 247 9728 or email her on lovestrathmorepark@gmail.com
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
