Crash causing delays, State Highway 2 Upper Hutt (SH2 northbound)
Massively impressed by the work of a drain laying crew, who took control at this crash site before Police and Ambulance services had arrived. They were helping get cars out of the way and directing traffic. Not sure which company they worked for, but these guys stepped up

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
