What will we do while our library's closed?
The Upper Hutt Central Library has been closed immediately after it was found to be earthquake-prone.
Options for a temporary library site would not be discussed until the extent of the repair work was determined but could include storing books in a shipping container. Where do you think the books should go? And what do you think of the library temporarily closing? Favourite books or reading corners you'll miss? Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
