Last year saw a national shortage of Swan plants, the main diet of Monarch caterpillars, causing a large number of the population to be wiped out.
Yates is getting behind the drive to avert a similar crisis this year by giving away various free butterfly friendly seeds including Yates new Butterfly Field Mix seeds between 1st and 14th October. Just register here during this time to receive your packet of seeds.
A national planting day will be held on 20th October. Plant a Swan plant or other butterfly friendly plants in your garden, in your neighbour’s garden, at school, in your local community garden – and let’s help Monarch butterflies flourish.

In the first few years of operation, there could be up to 300 return trips by waste trucks which will increase to 500 return trips by 2060. These figures aren't inclusive of landfill staff, service vehicles and visitors. This stretch of road in Dome Valley happens to be one of New Zealand's deadliest.

The first passengers on Sunday morning received a certificate commemorating the ride, a trip that took about 35 minutes from Warkworth to the Hibiscus Coast Station, an hour from Warkworth to Albany, and about 90 minutes to the city. Warkworth is almost 60 kilometers north of Auckland city.
The 995 bus service runs throughout the day with the last bus leaving Warkworth at 6.45pm and the Hibiscus Coast at 7.25pm. Click here to view a timetable.
