Auckland's best restaurant flies north!
If you’ve wanted to see behind those huge gates of Russell’s world-acclaimed Donkey Bay Inn I hear there’s a chance in January, but we might have to be quick! Auckland’s best restaurant is “popping up” on the hotel’s terraces overlooking Long Beach and Waitata (“Donkey”) Bay from 7-16 January. To respect their high-paying guests' privacy, they are limiting each evening to just twenty guests. Why go to Auckland when you can stay here, perched on a clifftop overlooking paradise and still have the best food from the Big Tarmac!

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
