Porirua Funders Expo returns
Funders and support agencies will be on hand next month to help local groups, as the annual Porirua Funders Expo is held again at Pātaka.
The event, running 11am-8pm on Thursday 5 October, is for organisations looking for funds to support community-focused projects around sports, the arts, supporting youth, the environment, or other areas that provide local benefit.
There will be about a dozen funders and support agencies available to chat to face-to-face at the event.
The event will run slightly differently this year, with groups able to drop-in between 11am-3pm or later from 5-8pm to chat with funders and agencies.
Funders confirmed for the day include Porirua City Council, Department of Internal Affairs, Nuku Ora, Creative New Zealand and the Ministry for Pacific Peoples.

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?
Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.
This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.
We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly… would you get involved? 💚

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
