Pinecones for Sale (fundraising for new bike!)
Now is the time to stock up on pinecones for the coming cooler months! These are great fire starters and burn well on the outdoor brazier. Collected by our 12 year old, the proceeds from sales kick off his saving for his dream bike. Selling for $10 for 100 (approx 1 countdown bag filled to the brim). Pick up is in Tawa. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
