Plastic free Porirua Harbour

Neil from Titahi Bay

For the last few weeks I have been picking up plastic from the shores of the harbour everytime I take the dog I take a bag it is easy to do only takes about 10 minutes and I have cleaned up a big stretch there is still a fair bit trapped among the grasses by the water at the edge of the lagoon but its looking good it needs to be ongoing though do I want a medal no its an easy way to do your bit for the community and enviroment Can a harbour get a status of plastic free ? it would be good for the area anyone can do this anywhere in the neighbourhood and pick up your rubbish if you drop it.
