On-leash dog zone reminder - cemeteries and sports fields

The Team from Kāpiti Coast District Council

Kāpiti, did you know our cemeteries and sports fields are on-leash dog walking areas? Due to a number of recent issues with dogs in these areas, our animal control team will be stepping up their patrols over coming months.

While we all love walking our kurī, please be considerate in these sensitive places, and exercise your pooch in some of our amazing off-lead spaces if you want to let them have a run around. To find out more about our dog zones, visit www.kapiticoast.govt.nz...

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
