The weather's looking pretty wet for the next few days Kāpiti, with our friends at MetService New Zealand issuing a heavy rain warning for the Tararua Range from midday 12pm Thursday to 3pm Friday.
Get prepared and watch out for...
🌧️ heavy rain and rapidly rising streams and rivers
💧 possible surface flooding and slips
🚗 hazardous driving conditions.
Remember to check and clear your stormwater drains and spouting early to avoid risk of flooding.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
