Temperatures are running about a degree above this time last year, with an average of 13.5C, but the average for the month will likely be a degree above this. Sunshine has been the equivalent of eight sunny days
There’s been almost no rain this month, just traces amounting to around 5 mm. Following the 30mm on the last days of July, it was hoped the semi-drought condition of the last half year might be over, but it seems that was not so, although it’s still early days.

I saw this news tonight and thought who would do such a horrible act such as this.Did Noone seething taking place or even cared if they.seen or heard something that was suspicious or have we as a society and community don't care or give a damn.I am not from here originally but now call this … View moreI saw this news tonight and thought who would do such a horrible act such as this.Did Noone seething taking place or even cared if they.seen or heard something that was suspicious or have we as a society and community don't care or give a damn.I am not from here originally but now call this area my home and have met some really nice people and The Neighbourly Community care about what's going on and helping others.I hope whoever did this is found and held responsible.They may be regretting it eventually as every whare I beleive carries a life force and the ancestors and those who hold a lot love and its spirit will make these people want to take it back and put it right.I wouldn't want that on my doorstep.So we as neighbour's should be looking out for things that look a bit strange,its not being nosey its looking out for everyone.

We just found out to our cost that the parks outside Woolworths are now a 1 hour max. We missed the tiny sign on the other side of the trolly bay. So we were in farmers then specsavers too long. 65$ fine not happy ...

The fertiliser drive is one of the club’s major fundraising activities with all proceeds going back to the community.
Orders are being taken up until 24 August with deliveries to Waikanae homes only on the morning on 7 September. Delivery to some other areas can be arranged.
