Lower speed limit of 80kmh signalled for high accident stretch
A lower speed limit of 80kmh may be in place by Christmas along a deadly stretch of State Highway 60, near Nelson.
New Zealand Transport Agency has signalled a lowering of the speed limit from 100kmh to 80kmh for the whole section of SH60 between Three Brothers Corner at Richmond and Maisey Rd.
The increasingly busy section, which includes a long straight followed by a winding stretch, has had a number of fatal and serious crashes in recent years. Read more here.
