After 50 years without a sighting, the rare and quirky sailback houndshark has finally been spotted again in Papua New Guinea!

Because it’s been seen so rarely, scientists still know very little about it. But its striking features are already sparking debate about whether it should be given special protection, and some have even argued it could become an icon species for Papua New Guinea.

At a time when we so often hear about species disappearing, the return of this little shark is a reminder that nature can surprise us ... and that there’s always reason to hope.

You can read more about the sailback shark here

We hope this brings a smile!

Treatment of varicose veins is offered in a few clinics, however it is worth to check if the clinic is dedicated in the minimally invasive treatment of the condition, how long has the clinic has been serving the community and if the treatment delivering provider is a local doctor.
Unlike many other conditions, varicose veins treatment require ongoing follow-ups after the initial procedure, sometimes unexpected and urgent. In The Vein Centre, the dedicated team is made of locally living professionals always ready to see you if required.

Thought you were past your prime to become a rockstar? Don't sell yourself - or your health - short.

Research published this year has demonstrated that playing music helps keep dementia at bay - no matter how late in life the skill is picked up.

The basic idea behind this research is not new - we know that 'cognitive reserve' (learning new things) plays a big role in delaying mental slowdown. But the reminder that "it is never too late" is welcome ...

We hope this news brings a smile!

HI EVERYONE❗
Would you like to know what the future has in store for you ? A new romance perhaps ? Moving house ? Different job ? Would you like to receive a message from a loved one who has passed ?
Interested ? Then come along to our next meeting this Wednesday, September 17th, 7:30pm start, in The Theosophical Society Hall, 9e Annalise Place, off Forest Glen, off Puriri Avenue, Orewa. There is a car park next to the cozy heated hall. We finish around 9pm.
We are "The Hibiscus Spiritual Awakening and Healing Centre", a non-profit organisation run by friendly volunteers, and we ask for only $5 please. Thank you. Meetings are held fortnightly, with a different medium each time. It's always nice to see that people new to us are often chosen for a reading on their first visit.
In a warm, pleasant, relaxing atmosphere, people receive amazing, enlightening, and very comforting messages, as well as good advice. Often, the medium will provide evidence by giving small details that the medium could not possibly have known.
Look us up on Facebook. Satisfy your curiosity by coming along and checking us out. It will be a revelation ! And, whether you are young, or not so young,
ALL ARE WELCOME❗
