During term time, students live with their peers in boarding houses at school. In the school holidays, many students wish to stay with host families to enjoy the Kiwi way of life. If you have a spare room and you are interested in other cultures, then your home could become her home away from home.
Homestays are an invaluable opportunity for the student and host family alike, providing the chance to learn more about each other’s cultures and perspectives.
Homestay families receive an honorarium of $40 per night. To register your interest, please visit www.woodford.school.nz/homestay or call Dana Solomon on (06) 8730 700.

The mothers, a seal (dark brown) and a blue Tortie had the kits just hours between them Their father is a lilac spotted tabbie Burmese.. These kittens will be available to go to their new homes late next month. Colours: Male - chocolate, cream, red, lilac, blue and seal. Female - seal tabbie, chocolate tortie and chocolate. These are NOT purebred, rather more like 75 percent , so no papers. These have been with us day and night and, as such, are exceptionally friendly. Vaccination, desexing and micro-chipping your care. The cost will be between 200 and 250 dollars.
Please note, we will be keeping two or three of the kittens for ourselves.

I have had quite a few different experiences, helping with horses and leading clients, working on the grounds, mucking out, fundraising and being part of the committee. Now I mainly run the muck pile and a garden. I have found the experience very rewarding and enjoyable. The team at the Riding for the Disabled, managers and other volunteers are very friendly and supportive.
They are still looking for more help so that they can reach more children and adults with physical, intellectual, emotional and social challenges by interactions with horses.
There is more information on the RDA website.
