Yes, women are allowed to join Menzshed, but you are not treated differently from our Men. So be prepared, and yes, now we are at our new larger premises, we are looking for members to join us. Male/Female. $30.00 per year membership. All you need is to pass our sense of humour test, and willing to have a go at just about anything. Come and visit for a free tour, and if you make it about 10 am., $2.00 will get you a tea or coffee and a bikkie. To find us? Our centre had highly committed, compassionate and professional staff who strive daily to provide the very best care and education to our children, their families and the wider community - sometimes in very challenging circumstances. Our centre is totally free for up to 30 hours of care and education for each and every child who attend.
We are looking for a positive, open minded individual who can
work proactively with staff, families and the wider community. If you have some leadership skills and experiences and a can-do attitude this would be an advantage.
Our Te Atawhai community is a very supportive one. As Chairperson you would be drawn into our welcoming community and well guided and introduced into the role. The role itself is not demanding and involves building strong relationships, giving guidance and outside perspective to the management and the small group of Board of Trustees, who are families for our children. You will Chair a BoT meeting every eight weeks or so.
