Will this include the memorial name plaques and eternal flame? The relatives of those who volunteered and were conscripted will not be appeased by a mere web site linked to other NCC business interests.
"lest we forget" or better to get on with business and forget the past with a new name. Utter shame on the previous Dalton/Jack administration who thankfully are fast receding into being nothing but a bad memory.
Hopefully the new council and Mayor can do better and not be reviled like the past administration.

I wondered what you thought about private security cameras. Are they good for the neighbourhood? Or a sign troubled communities?

Chlorine-free water taps

Karen from Havelock North

Just wanted to share that I just spoke to Matt Kersel, the water engineer at HDC, and he advises that they are hoping to open the chlorine-free taps early next week. Not written in stone, though. Not written in stone, though. Perhaps if folks were to phone the council (871-5000) and express their appreciation for the taps reopening it would help firm up the date.

Congratulations to Tracie who won the Silky Oak Gift basket of Chocolate and Pantry goodies. Silky Oak was part of a combined Hawkes Bay Tourism and The Hits Radio with Megan and Adam promo.
We are all working as a team to inspire locals to not only support the local community but get to know what is in you own backyard. It is surprising how much Hawkes bay has to offer.
Photos are not the basket won, but to give an idea of what we can do at Silky Oak
