Please, please, please, when driving, Watch where you are going, not where you’ve been. And be aware, there is a pedestrian crossing at the Campbell St end of the New World carpark.
Today I got hit by a van, while crossing the pedestrian crossing, with my son. I’m not hurt, just a few bumps and bruises, and an ache or 5, but it could have been much worse. I had to shove my son out of the path of the van, because the driver was looking left, as she pulled out of the carpark, and turned right, straight into the pedestrian crossing, and us.
Statistically, if it had been a car, I’d have ended up a lot worse than just shaken and stirred. But a van, with no protruding engine block, at that speed, was like hitting the ground, hard.
So, when you are driving, please watch in front, and be aware of everyone and everything around you, especially around pedestrian crossings.

Perhaps you are newly retired and miss those smoko breaks, have a trade and looking to support something in your community, or maybe you are new to the area and looking for something to do while the kids are at school.
Whatever the reason we need you.
We are looking for volunteers who are able to offer @ least 3 hours each week.

A Touch of the 70s: The 90s may currently be the retro kickback in clothing fashion, but the 70s is about to make its comeback for interior design. This vintage theme will not be the bold patterned wallpaper and aubergine coloured bathroom fittings you’ve only just stripped from your grandparents’ home but instead suggestions and colour pops of burnt orange, moss greens and other warm neutrals.
Items to lend these pops of brightness and patterns can be found at local flea markets, antique stores and junkyards. Routinely visiting these places and keeping an eye out for 70s pieces online can help you find lots of complementary items to mix and match and provide a retro flair.
