The Auckland Lantern Festival is AKL's biggest annual event with 200,000+ attendees each year. We want your experience to be an enjoyable one, so please plan ahead!

We would highly advise taking public transport to the festival - bus stops and Grafton & Newmarket train stations are just a short walk away. If you must drive, then park further away (such as the Victoria St or Civic car parks in the CBD) & walk to the domain from there.

Hi Auckland,

I hope you all had a fantastic long weekend. The sun was shining brightly and Aucklanders were out in force, which was great to see.

I saw some big crowds at Hayman Park, Manukau and Parrs Park in Henderson yesterday for the Waitangi celebrations. Impressive challenge and welcome for the PM at Hoani Waititi Marae. People enjoying sunny weather, the festivities and food stalls.

I capped off Waitangi day by getting some exercise on the farm, loading up hay bales. Hot work, but a cold beer afterwards helped with the recovery.

Have a great week, Auckland!

HPV-related cancers take a long time to develop, the viruses are mostly transmitted by teenagers and young adults but often aren’t diagnosed until later. That’s why it’s important for children to be immunised when they are young. Around 80% of people will be exposed to HPV at some point in their life. Protecting children before they are exposed to HPV will protect their health in the future.

For more information about HPV immunisation, see www.health.govt.nz/hpv

TLC gifts are virtual gifts to which you can add either an e-card or a printed card. You simply select which animal you'd like to save and whether you'd like to give them the gift of love or rescue on behalf of the one you love.

Long after everyone else's chocolates have been eaten and flowers have wilted your gift will live on in the life of the animal you helped save.
