The Highlights:
CAPTAIN COOKER DYNASTY EXPANDS
A Roman pig with a tax rebellion problem enters the family tree — bacon meets togas.
BISHOP VS THE BACKLASH
Chris Bishop muttered into his beer and accidentally started a national debate.
CHEF GORDON RAMSWINE: Honeycomb Havoc
It’s lavender ice cream with crunch, citrus, and chaos — no pigs, just pride.
FENCED IN & PRICED OUT
Wellington builds an $11m harbour cage — Eastbourne, you’re probably next.
TRADIE RELIABILITY INDEX
Painters are flaky, electricians are clingy, and plumbers still ghost you.
PHANTOM OF PETONE
Hutt City’s heritage map puts a pā underwater — Atlantis, but with consent forms.
DELIVER-HAMS PREMIERES
A pig, a canoe, and a possum walk into a film pitch — and somehow it got made.
EASTBOURNE UNPLUGGED
No auto-tune, no shame, just local bays battling it out for musical chaos.
BOURNE GAMES
Every Tuesday, Eastbourne Bowling Club turns into your winter games den — with pool, darts, cards, bowls, and a buzzing bar.
BARRY CAM™
Hutt’s new surveillance system doubles as a family drama in 1080p.
MILK ECONOMICS
Our milk costs more than Milan’s — even the cows are confused.
WHO’S REALLY RUNNING THIS TOWN?
The election's coming, and the candidates are weird, wonderful, or both.
POLLS ARE USELESS (AND WE LOVE THEM)
The numbers mean nothing, but let’s pretend they do — it’s tradition.

It’s live. It’s local. It’s a little feral.

We’re so grateful to our community for the nominations, votes and ongoing support and we’re super proud of what Catnap means to people. Having this recognition means a lot to us."

Indoor sports, a warm bar, and questionable skills — it’s where grown-ups go to play indoors on a winter Tuesday.
Forget the couch, skip the Netflix scroll, and come where the lights are on, the bar’s open, and the competition is... mildly competitive.
Every Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm (and sometimes later), Eastbourne Bowling Club becomes your winter hideaway – warm, relaxed, and full of low-stakes, high-fun competition.
There may be no medals, but there’s pool, darts, cards, indoor bowls, bar snacks, and the occasional victory dance that probably shouldn’t happen. Come for a quiet pint, stay for a showdown at the dartboard, or challenge someone to chess and pretend it’s tactical genius, not luck. And yes, we do laugh at people trying to get up off the indoor bowls mat.
The bar’s open, the snacks are out, and the doors are open to everyone – members, locals, newcomers, and anyone just looking for something to do on a Tuesday.
WHERE
Eastbourne Bowling Club – 179 Muritai Road
(Down the right of way opposite Muritai School)
WHEN
Tuesdays from 4pm – 8pm
(or until someone demands a rematch)
No need to book. No need to bowl. Just show up.

We’ve all been there. The oven’s blinking some mysterious code, the washing machine’s having an emotional episode, and the only manual you can find is for a stereo system last seen in the '90s.
Good news, MEGA is here with a public service announcement that might just save your weekend and your marriage.
If you've thrown out every instruction booklet you ever owned (as most sensible people do), head straight to:
www.manualslib.com...
It’s an absolute goldmine of over 6 million manuals for everything from fridges to fitness bikes. No paywalls. No dodgy downloads. No begging manufacturers to “open a support ticket.” Just the manual you need, when you need it.
Whether you’re a DIY battler, a determined householder, a curious geek, or just someone trying to set the clock on the microwave—this is the site to know.
Brought to you by MEGA – Making Eastbourne Great Again (and slightly more operational).
