My 2023 Prospa Local Business Hero nomination

Sandra from Levin

My favorite local business is The Big Egg Shop, 272 Roslyn Road, Levin.
You get to see the chickens roaming free outside on the farm, and see how healthy and lively they are. The eggs are delicious coming in all sizes, and are reasonably priced.
But they have gone the extra mile, selling fresh local produce form their shop, such as delicious sausages from the pork farm, breads form Thoroughbread Foods, Honey & beeswax, Foxton fiz and Milk, and Genoese Pesto and products. All locally produced fresh food.
The Big Egg Shop obviously worked hard to bring the local market to their little shop and I for one really appreciate it and admire them for it. The deserve a shout-out.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
