WOFs incorrectly passed - have you been affected?

Reporter Whangarei Leader

Hi neighbours - there is a possibility that 1840 vehicles passed by Jaco Jacobs, and his Whāngārei-based inspecting organisation JJ Automotive Services Ltd, could have been passed incorrectly.

Vehicle owners would be contacted by NZTA as soon as possible to advise them on recheck options.

Have you been affected? Have you had experience with dodgy WOF testing in the past?

We’re adjusting the electorate boundaries

Electoral Commission

We’re adjusting our electorate boundaries for the next two general elections.

By making sure each electorate has about the same number of people, we can give all New Zealanders equal representation in Parliament. It’s all balance.
If we move one of your electorate boundaries, you could end up in a different electorate to the one you’re in now – so we show you what we’re proposing before we make any changes and give you the opportunity to share your thoughts.

Hi Neighbourly - we're looking for a first-home buyer to talk about why it was their goal to buy a house and the reasons behind it (need to be willing to be pictured with it). We're also looking for a few people 50 years or older to talk about how important owning their own home is to their retirement goals

Karikari Peninsula scrub fire doubles in size overnight

Caroline Williams Reporter from Northern News

A scrub fire caused by fallen powerlines on Thursday has ripped through 100 hectares overnight, leaving 11 people without power.
Four helicopters, 20 rural firefighters and a 12 tonne digger were working on the blaze and were hoping to have it under control by 4.30pm on Friday. It comes as mapping by NIWA revealed soils were "extremely" drier than normal and drought conditions were evident in some parts of Northland.
