Thank you from Northland fire services

Fire and Emergency New Zealand

Our recent call for new volunteers has been a great success and we’re very proud of the response we’ve had from the community.

We’ve had numerous offers of support, which highlights the generous nature of our community. To those who have stepped up to be a volunteer, you’ve shown us a true passion to keep our communities safe. On behalf of Northland’s fire services, I thank you for stepping up when we needed you most.

We’ll always need more volunteers, so if you, or someone you know, would be interested in volunteering for Fire and Emergency New Zealand, please get in touch with your local brigade.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
