Councillor Mark Donovan says he felt a duty to stick around for voters
City councillor Mark Donovan has confirmed he considered resigning his Hamilton East ward seat last year but was convinced to stay on.
Donovan’s council roles include being chairperson of the regulatory and hearings committee, which attracts a yearly stipend of nearly $100,000, and deputy chairperson of the economic development committee.
From rugged campsite to 7.5ha resort
Grant Kilby has always loved camping. His mum was director of health at the YMCA, and he would attend YMCA camps in the school holidays. “I think it was mandatory that I was there,” he jokes.
He went on camping holidays with his parents, and later, took his own kids.
