The Waikato Society of Potters are putting on an open day for the whole family! This is a chance for you to come down to the studios and see what we do. We will have a range of clay-related family-friendly activities on offer during the day, such as:
Decorate a pot with a raku glaze and see it fired before your eyes.
Have a go on a potter’s wheel.
Demonstration of throwing pots on the wheel.
Slippery Dip for the kids.
Squish, squash, shape and bang.
Cake Stall & Refreshments.
Pottery class information.
Our neighbours, the Men's Shed, are also putting on activities and a BBQ. So come and see the 'blokes in action' - they are always looking for new blood!
See you there, and have a look at our website in the meantime: www.waikatopotters.co.nz...

For November it is 9am Sunday 17th November (NZ time).

This place only opened 3 days ago so I thought I'd try it out tonight.. drive through... they were sooo busy.. a great start for their business.... but staff accidentally gave us spicy instead of original chicken so we took it back... the staff and Manager could not have been nicer and certainly did much more than what we expected.. gave us some freebees too.. such nice people .... and great food.... will certainly be customers of theirs again. A big welcome to them to our community... I urge others to try them out :)
Hi everyone, I found a fabulous website here: www.lightupchristmas.co.nz...
Scroll down to Waikato region and you will see how few people have added their properties to the christmas lights list so far.
Sure we can add to this list significantly, and would love to see many more properties sharing the joy of Christmas with others through their festive light displays and the abovementioned website.
PS: I know its early yet but thought I'd put this message up now before I forget to do it later when much busier. Maybe someone from one our local tabloids reads this and writes a bit of an editorial with the abovementioned link.
