Do you have three litres of stored water per person in your house? Hopefully, because that's the rule of thumb to have ready in your emergency kit. An event when your kit could come in handy could be anything from an earthquake, to loss of power in a storm, or, as we have seen recently, an unexpected water supply issue.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
