The Council is proposing a big change in our city’s rubbish and recycling collection. Currently we have a bagged rubbish collection, with some recycling, but we think Hamilton can do better.
Over time, the cost to throw rubbish into landfill is going to increase. As a city, we need to reduce what we throw into landfill, so we’re looking at a wheeled bin kerbside collection that lets us recycle a lot more – including food waste.
We want your views on whether we should make this change or stay with what we do now. Consultation information is available at your local library or from the Council office in Civic Square. The health system has been accused of breaking the law amid sky-rocketing demand for community-based nurses in Waikato.
This comes as the supply of district nurses lags behind referral increases of more than 100%, leading to staff burn out and an “unprecedented” service failure.
