Waimarie Community Centre in Hamilton East hosts Making is Connecting sewing for 8 weeks each term: a Wednesday daytime class or a Thursday evening class. We have sewing machines, fabric, notions, tea, coffee, snacks, and lots of chat. See attached poster for dates and details but note classes will only run if there's minimum numbers so register your interest soon.

The city's new mayor is setting out his plan
Hamilton City Council is pledging to cut costs and avoid “gold plating” infrastructure as part of a new strategy to limit rates increases, but Mayor Tim Macindoe says central government support may be needed to meet a new national rates cap.
Macindoe said Wellington needed to be “a little more nuanced” and take population growth into account.
