Do you have a teen who attends Hillcrest High and is interested in rowing? The school rowing team are looking for new members - novices, experienced rowers, and coxswains. Winter training is getting underway now, with camps coming up. Head along to one of the 'have a go' sessions on Saturday mornings, 10am, starting this Saturday 23rd May, at Hamilton Rowing Club, Grantham Street. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
