Free Battery Recycling
To help create a positive change in our environment, we offer FREE recycling of batteries. No purchase required.
We accept car batteries, phone batteries and any other household battery you may have.
For every car battery that you recycle through Grimmer Motors, approximately 2-3 trees will be planted on your behalf through Trees for Survival, a charity encourages school children to plant trees in their local communities.
Additionally, we will plant a native tree for every new customer we receive.
When batteries are disposed of in rubbish dumps, they go into landfill. They can then leak hazardous chemicals into the ground, damaging our environment.
Located on Heaphy Terrace, we provide an easier, more central location to recycle your car and household batteries. Just place them in the boot of our blue Mitsubishi outside. Look for the electronic sign mounted on top.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
