Poll: Is a Santa parade a must for you?
South Waikato councillors have deemed Santa a “must have”, and a core part of fostering community spirit in the district, with the man in red set to return despite the lean times.
In December 2023, the South Waikato District Council had to cancel the town’s annual Christmas parade after a local Lions club, that traditionally organised and ran the parade, had to pull out due to a lack of manpower and escalating costs for traffic management.
