Saga of the mislaid sun glassies
To all those who wondered what became of my $700 sunglasses temporarily mislaid and speedily sold for $2 by the Hospice Shop in Claudelands, the story unfolded like this. I never heard from the Hospice Shop or sighted my sun glasses again. But I did hear from my opticians, Paterson Burn. I was gobsmacked. It is not as though I am a big time customer. I have only been there a few times. My experience taught me two things:
a) You never know your luck in a big city
b) I'm glad I went to Paterson Burn

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
