Spread some festive cheer! Volunteer as a Christmas Gift Wrapper!
Volunteering Waikato is still looking for a few more volunteers to gift wrap at Centre Place or The Base in December. This is our only fundraiser for the year, the malls pay for all resources, and all donations come directly to help us support 330 other charities in our region. Gift wrapping shifts are around 4 hours long, and you need to be available for at least three during the month. It's tonnes of fun, you can bring a friend/family member, and training is provided. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
