BreastScreen Aotearoa is a free national breast screening programme that checks women between 45 and 69 years for early breast cancer. The programme aims to reduce the number of women who die from breast cancer.
You can have a free screening mammogram every two years through BreastScreen Aotearoa if you meet the following criteria:
- Are aged 45 – 69 years
- Have no symptoms of breast cancer
- Have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are eligible for public health services in New Zealand

Spotting a tui is usually enough to make anyone pause what they are doing to behold its beauty - but this one will definitely stop you in your tracks.
The tracks in this case are on the Te Awa River Ride, the new cycle and walking trail that runs alongside the Waikato River. A section of the route, between central Cambridge and the Grassroots Trust Velodrome, is in the process of becoming a grand outdoor art gallery.
