Tourism, then and now

Paul from Levin

The Japanese are getting annoyed by the impacts of high numbers of tourists in their daily environment and yesterday I heard that the daily number of people allowed to climb Mt Fuji is going to be limited. I don't remember the number currently climbing each day but it amounted to many thousands causing predictable harm to the environment.

I took these two photos when I climbed the mountain in 1960.

Mute Swan. 2017-1

Mute Swan. Note the interesting parallel, horizontal lines on the swan. I suspect they might be created by reflections from the ripples on the water surface. Please enlarge.
