I drove very slowly over it but still got a lot of on my (Black) car.The next day my son noticed the stuff and said do not just wash it off normally, like washing your car. Hose it with a heavy stream of water till it starts coming off. You have to let the water soak in. Then wash with a very soft sponge and water very gently until it has all gone. This may take a few minutes. My son had the same issue and washed his car in the normal way. After he had finished there were fine scratch marks all over the paintwork. My reason for posting this is because I had my car at the paint and panel repairers and I told them about the wet sandy like substance the road workers are throwing on the road. He said to me you have to hose the vehicle with water, wait for it to soak in before washing it off. He also said that they have a car in here that needs half of the body of the car repainting because it had fine scratch marks from the stuff road workers are putting on the road. The lady owner was not aware and just washed the car the normal way.
