Volunteers for Track Day at Manfeild Saturday, 26th August
Hi everyone,
The Victoria Motorcycle is running a track day at Manfeild raceway in Feilding on Saturday, 26 August. We are still a little short on volunteers to assist with the running of the day. Duties include flag marshalling, grid assistance etc. No experience is necessary as we will pair you up with someone experienced. We provide a $50 BP fuel card for the day, and provide the most enormous and delicious home made lunch during the day complete with vege/meat options, hot/cold drinks, and plenty of cakes/muffins to keep you full during the day. Plus you get the best spots from which to watch the bikes up close and personal.
Please give us a shout on volunteer@vicclub.co.nz if you would like more information or think you could assist. Day commences at 8 am with all bikes off track by 4:30 pm. Thanks!

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
