Born March 22, 1956, died peacefully of cancer at home in Wharewerawera (Long Beach) Dunedin on the morning of December 14, 2022, as the sun rose and the birds sang. Sister of Jack and Peter van Dingenen. Wife of the late Craig Stoddart, mother of Lewis, Angie, and Joseph Stoddart. Nanny to Dawn, Helen, Isaac, Dylan, and Leo Stoddart. Whaea to many. Donations in lieu of koha to Otago Community Hospice, 0800 682 464.

In the wonderful care of Lady Wigram staff on Thursday, December 15, 2022, following a brief illness, aged 73 years. Beloved wife of Richard and loved mother and mother-in-law of Sara and Andrew, Guy, Hugh and Emily, and Charles and Holly. Loved grandmother to Willie and Sahed, Henri, Jimmy, Eloise and Harriet. A loved sister, sister-in-law and aunt. A private cremation has been held.

NORLING, June (nee Baker)

On Thursday 15th December at Charles Fleming Retirement Village, aged 94 years. A peaceful end to a very eventful life. Precious daughter of Madeline Lucy and Stanley Clifford Baker (both deceased). Much loved Mum and MIL of Annette & Jamie, and Julie and Gordon. Unique Nanna of Joanna, David, Marcus and Briar, and Great-Grandmother of Marli and Kaio. A NZ champion roller skater, a wonderful old-time dancer and a granny marcher. She served on many committees over the years. Dancing again in the arms of her sweetheart and soulmate, Gordon. Many thanks to Kim and all of the carers who took superb care of Mum. As requested by June a private cremation has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wellington Free ambulance would be appreciated.

Valma passed away peacefully under the wonderful care of Kaiapoi Lodge Hospital, aged 96. Loving wife to the late James Wallace Wilkins (Wal). Cherished mother and mother-in-law to Richard, John and Wendy, Catherine and Alan (Rawsthorn), and Andrew and Louise. Much loved Grandma to Janaya, Emily, Summah, Poppy, Caitlin, and Sadie. Great-Grandmother to Alexander, Margaux, and Charlotte. A service to celebrate Valma’s life will be held at Northbrook Chapel and Rossburn Receptions, Spark Lane, Rangiora, on Wednesday, December 21, at 1.00pm. Passed away after a courageous battle, on Friday, December 16, 2022, with family by his side, aged 83 years. Cherished husband of Margaret (nee Philbrick) for 61 years. Treasured dad of Jill and Stephen, Anne and Nathan, Helen and Michael, Mark and Donna, and a special family member of Jason and Nic. Much loved grandad, great-grandad, and friend to many. Many thanks to Dr. Hammond Williamson and the staff at Bupa Parkstone for their respectful love and care of Al.

GIBSON, Andrew Beattie

Aged 62 years, passed away in Wellington Hospital on 15.12.2022. Beloved husband and soul mate of Anne, adored papa of Louis, Elle and Paige. Dearly loved son of Eric and Esther Gibson (deceased), and son-in-law of Peter and Robin Berryman. Much loved brother of Richard, Ralph, Ruth, Paul, Deborah, and the late Peter, and brother-in-law of Stephen, James and Lizzy, and their spouses. Treasured uncle of his many nieces and nephews and their families. Also known as ‘Gibbo’ to his wide group of friends who shared his love for life and adventure. A humble man that greatly loved his family and friends and was much loved in return. The service for Andrew will to be held at Old St Paul’s, 34 Mulgrave Street, Pipitea, Wellington, on 22 December 2022 at 1pm to be followed by private burial. Passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022; in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of Peter of 68 years. John left us suddenly on Thursday 15th December 2022, just three days before his 79th birthday. Much loved partner and best friend for 38 years of Tony Barnes. Peacefully died with family at home on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Loved husband of Leigh, father to Chris, Nat and Nick, and father-in-law to Ricky, Cindy and Saskia.
