Marjorie passed away peacefully at Nurse Maude Hospital, Christchurch, on December 12, 2022, aged 83 years. Loved wife of the late Graeme Hamilton Robinson. Loving mother of Elspeth Aitken, Celia Quinnell, and Euan Robinson. Loved nana of Alice, Charlotte, and Liam. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
VENNING, Rodney Brian
Born 30th December 1933 at Christchurch. I write this as my assisted death on 10th December 2022 in Wellington draws near. My lifetime vocation was as a practising lawyer from February 1965 until June 2015. This 50-year period included 16 years as a judge and coroner of Hong Kong. This was the most fulfilling time of my career for me. I am survived by my loved wife Dawn Anne Brown, children Katrina Mary Harding, Bridget Jane Bucknell, and Campbell James Robert Venning. Also my grandchildren Oliver, Jasper and Bailey Harding (all Ozzies) and Zachery, Estella, and Alexis Venning (all Kiwis). More recently I have been a grandfather to Dawn’s granddaughters Imogen and Vivienne (London). I was first married on 8th December 1962 and believe my love for my children, grandchildren and Dawn’s family has been reciprocated. The meaningful and happy circumstances of my life have helped make it possible for me to withstand the medical treatment I have been subjected to since mid-2019 with good humour. All medical clinicians I have dealt with through the national health system and my general practitioner have been unfailingly kind, considerate and helpful. There will be no funeral. Private cremation.
PATTON, Jean MacDonald(nee MacVicar)

Passed away peacefully at Parklands Care Home Christchurch on December 12, 2022, aged 88 years. Dearly loved husband of Marie and loved Dad of Debra, Paul and Anthony. In keeping with Mervyn’s wishes, a private funeral was held on December 15 at St Mary’s Pro Cathedral, followed by a burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lived a full life of 94 years. Passed away peacefully 11th December 2022. Devoted wife of the late Bill Austin, loving mother of Graeme and Jenny, and Nana to Sky, Marcel, and Alfie. A special Great-Grandma to Bodhi and Elio. Loved and respected by her children’s partners, Bryan and Terry, and by her extended family. Loved and loving daughter of the late Lilias and Gessenox Hislop. A talented musician and dedicated history teacher with a prodigious knowledge of military history, Judy spent her later years very happily as a volunteer researcher at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. A valued friend who will be sadly missed by Trish, Pam, June, and the late Jane. Many thanks to the kind and patient staff at Ambridge Rose Manor for their care of Judy over the past five years.
