Art Talk

Pauline from Kaukapakapa

The Art of Relating to Art
A series of illustrated talks
Sponsored by South Kaipara U3A. Presented by : Chris Ellwood
In a series of three 2 hour seminars, Chris will take us on a journey through time, looking into the full span of artistic expression from prehistoric time until present day. He will help us open our eyes to what we are seeing and experiencing as we view art.
Chris says “To really appreciate art, we need to have some tools of observation. In the coming talks I hope to share some of these tools. You will see art you love and hate and hopefully you will begin to understand why.”
About Chris Ellwood: Chris is passionate about learning and knowledge. He has a BSc in marine biology and graduate diplomas in secondary teaching and theology. These days he is a sculptor in metal and is absorbed in learning about art and artists. Chris is a gifted speaker. Attending these talks will greatly expand your knowledge and appreciation of art.
