THAT CANNABIS DEBATE....
It'll be interesting to see how that referendum pans out on the subject of Cannabis. I am in two minds on the topic; firstly I am going to vote for it but, secondly, I have reservations about the probability of a capitalistic and social incremental creep where big money and big business will, over time, eventually, buy their way with politicians, their political Parties' funding and government. With the ever growing familiarity of the presence of cannabis in our daily lives, they will want to be permitted to advertise their big brand name cannabis product on the jerseys of the All Blacks and on the backs of the Christchurch red buses..... Advertising to young people who will be sold on the idea that they need to get stoned to be socially acceptable; a necessary social lubricant just like alcohol advertising in New Zealand...
DANGER!! DANGER!! DANGER!!
I am a rabid post-grad Political Science student and political proctologist (at UC) and I refuse to take my medication!!! (LOL)
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
