'Consumers' lazy attitudes' means two thirds of recycling in central Christchurch goes to landfill
Consumers' "lazy attitudes" are to blame for most of the recycling in the city centre going straight into landfill.
The Christchurch City Council installed 18 rubbish/recycling "combos" and 22 standalone recycling units within the four avenues but glass, cans and plastic collected at more than half of those sites is routinely added to the trash because of organic waste contamination.
