How do you manage noisy neighbours?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Have you ever struggled with a noisy neighbour? How did you manage the situation? Should there be a Sunday morning noise ban? Maybe you'd like New Zealand neighbourhoods to be more like they were 'back in the day' with quiet Sunday mornings - or even a day of rest. What noise do you find the hardest to cope with? Do you like fresh fruit? Do you want to see more free food in your community?

Planning is underway for a community garden and orchard for Radley Park in Woolston. The proposed Roimata Food Hub will include community fruit trees, vege beds, herb gardens, tunnel houses and more, benefiting both the Woolston community and wider Christchurch.

Before this project can get off the ground, we need to know if this is something the community wants!
www.ipetitions.com...

How will it work?

The food that is produced will be shared out amongst those that have been involved in the garden. Any surplus from the garden will be made available to community groups who can distribute to those in need in our community.

The progress so far

The project is in its early stages, but we already have the support of CCC and the local community board. An initial committee has been formed (to do things like creating petitions!), and we have some beginning ideas for the gardens:

+Fruit that tastes like "real" fruit: We have already been offered some heirloom fruit trees to plant in July/August to kick-start the community orchard...
+A rainwater harvesting system to provide water for the gardens...
+Storage sheds and tunnel housing for crops and seedlings, so we can grow all year round...
+A food preparation area for community food events, picnics, etc...
+Composting systems to recycle garden waste back into the gardens...

...And we're excited to get other ideas from the community.

Sounds great. How do we make this happen?

The first thing we need is a show of support from the community: Both the Woolston community and the wider Christchurch community.

By signing this petition you will be showing your support and enthusiasm for the Roimata Community Food Hub, and all the opportunities and benefits that come with.

All you have to do is add your name to this petition to show your support. No other commitment is required: You're not signing up to volunteer. We're just looking for a show of hands to say "Yes, this is something we want in the community!"

Rotary clothesline similar to attached image
Outdoor Freestanding
Fold up four arms
Can fold away and remove from the ground socket when not in use
*Needs a replacement ground socket, was set in concrete, could not remove it
*Handle stopped engaging, so could only be used at the one height, wasn't a problem for me, could still hang sheets out - could be an easy fix?
*Small amount of surface rust, on the part of the pole that sat in the ground socket. Rust area does not crumble when poked/prodded - pole is still solid.
White marks on lower part of pole is where the green paint has come away.
*Line cord (it is in good condition) was removed while stored to prevent tangling - just needs to be re-strung. See photo.

Reason for selling: I prefer a rotary but it was always too big for my small back yard, could barely turn, so I reverted back to a retractable line & it has just been taking up room, standing unused :(
If you have any other questions - please ask :)

We understand it is frustrating for you not knowing when the boil water notice will be lifted. Even though tests have shown water is free from E.Coli, the boil water notice remains in place while we wait for residual chlorine to flush from the water supply network.

Once that is confirmed, we need clear results over three consecutive days to confirm the treatment has been fully successful. It is important we follow this process in conjunction with the Medical Officer of Health.
