We thought this was amazing. What a great way to teach your children the value of saving and getting them to add up the money is a fun way to do some maths. You could try using different bottles and different coins here in NZ.

My daughter was at the Dogwatch shop, said they were in need of donated goods household goods, clothes etc. She said the shop was busy but they definately are in need of donations. I would be happy to take anything you would like to donate, as their shop is in New Brighton, it probably is a bit far for most. You could drop off to me, or I would be happy to pick up. It is for such a good cause, Dogwatch do an amazing job, and I am not sure what happens to stuff after we put it in the clothing bins. Thanks for your time, Jo

Twenty-six yellow bins have been confiscated by the Christchurch City Council and another 52 will be removed from city streets over the next two weeks.
The residents have been warned three times but continue to put contaminated waste in their recycling bins.
To get the bins back, they will have to pay $97.65 and sign a statement promising to abide by the rules. Their bins will be monitored to make sure they keep that promise.
