Sumner Village work nearly done
Work is nearly finished to replace ageing infrastructure and add new landscaping and paving features to Sumner Village.
The upgrade, which is part of the Sumner Village Master Plan and began in March, is designed to make the area more attractive and people-friendly.
Contractors have nearly finished replacing the underground pipes and are now in the final stages of installing new road surfaces, kerbs, footpaths and lighting.
Christchurch City Council transport planning and delivery manager Lynette Ellis said contractors were on track to finish the work by the end of September, but the final stages of work would cause some disruption.
"For the next three weeks there will be restricted access to Nayland St and Wakefield Ave, with a stop/go system in place and no turning allowed into Nayland St."
