Woman and 6-year-old son racially abused at Christchurch mall car park

A Christchurch woman whose 6-year-old son was told to go f... off back to his own country says she wants police to take racist abuse incidents more seriously.

Maryam Frozan was reversing out of a Hornby Hub mall car park at the same time as another motorist about 1pm on Sunday, so drove back in to give way to the other motorist.

That motorist, a woman in her 60s, blew her horn a few times then got out of her car, strode up to Frozan’s car, put her head in the driver’s window, and verbally abused her and her son.

Police were able to track the woman down by her number plate, and she was given a formal warning for threatening behaviour. But Frozan says it is not enough, and she wants the woman charged. Continue reading here.
