Poll: Do you think councils running a shared rubbish service would be better?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Hamilton mayoral candidate Sarah Thomson reckons it’s time the city considered a new “in house” method of dealing with its rubbish and recycling, instead of simply letting foreign-owned companies truck it away.

In an announcement made on Saturday morning, Thomson said collaboration with other councils to deliver rubbish and recycling services might work for Hamilton - and it would at least be worth investigating to see if it would be cheaper than the current model.

Do you think councils running a shared rubbish service would be better? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).
