The Hidden Reason Behind $600 Power Bills
Last week, a client called me, completely shocked after his power bill skyrocketed to $600 in just one month. I visited his home expecting to find a faulty appliance draining extra power, but after a full check, everything was working perfectly. What many people don’t realise is that high bills usually aren’t caused by broken appliances, but by the way we use electricity in our everyday routines and the appliances that quietly consume the most power.
Here are some simple changes that can help lower your monthly bill:
Hot Water
Heating water uses an element, one of the biggest power consumers in any home. Managing hot water use and installing a timer can lead to significant savings. I’ve installed timers for many customers and they’ve noticed real results.
Dryer
Instead of running the dryer every day for just a few clothes, try to use it less often and wait until you have a full load.
Heating
Swap out electric heaters for a heat pump. They’re far more efficient and will save you money over time.
Lighting
Switch to LED lights. They last longer and use only a fraction of the electricity.
Outdoor Lights
Install a sensor so your lights only turn on when needed.
Small changes like these can add up to big savings every month.
If you’d like tailored advice or help with installing timers, sensors, or upgrades, I’m here to help.
